Ranikhet
A quiet town, Ranikhet has maintained its old era ambience. It was named after queen Padmini, wife of king Sukhardev of Kumaon, Who found the place so charming that she desired to settle here. Perched at 1828 m above sea level, Ranikhet has umpteen trekking routes within picturesque mountains. Along with an enchanting view of Bhagirathi River (in the east) to Nandakot (in the west), the region is dotted with temples, orchards and museums.
